Bluedrop’s Purchase of Ottawa Company Creates Giant Opportunities for Golfing Community.

August 4, 2006 – Ottawa, ON

Bluedrop Performance Learning announced today that it has completed the purchase of elearningstyles.com, which owns the international distribution rights to several learning style assessment tools, including the Different Strokes learning inventory for golf, developed in 1978 by Dr. Richard Rancourt.

Bluedrop acquired elearningstyles.com to leverage the tremendous potential that Different Strokes has to dramatically improve the effectiveness of training for golfing. Different Strokes is designed to identify a student’s preferred way of acquiring, processing and communicating knowledge and skills, i.e., their preferred way of learning. Delivered as a series of questions, Different Strokes provides an accurate picture of the way an individual communicates, makes decisions, solves problems, learns, teaches, designs instruction, and exercises leadership. Six unique learning and teaching styles are identified by Different Strokes.

“Knowing your individual learning style is invaluable for each worker as a self-assessment tool,” said Emad Rizkalla, President and CEO of Bluedrop. “However, what is most exciting is what Different Strokes will do for a golfing instructor. Instructors developing their curriculum can now tailor their materials and approach to suit their audience. Different Strokes will help revolutionize learning on the golf course by helping instructors target the style of instruction to the dominant learning style(s) of their students.”

Guy Levert, former President of elearningstyles.com said “I am pleased that such a reputable and respected company is now taking this opportunity on. Different Strokes has the potential to have a noticeable impact on the golfing world. I am confident that Bluedrop can help Different Strokes reach its significant potential.”

Dr. Richard Rancourt, a leading learning theory expert and creator of Different Strokes, said, “I am pleased to be working with Bluedrop. I have seen the benefits of Different Strokes to golfers and instructors first hand for almost 30 years and I believe that Bluedrop is the ideal company to make this technology ubiquitous for golf schools and training centres everywhere.”

The science behind Different Strokes is the result of 25 years of research involving nine different countries, using more than 100,000 subjects. Nearly 100 federal, provincial, educational, sports and private organizations are currently using these inventories to help them enhance performance. Extensive international research has established the scientific credibility of the Epistemic Orientation Model upon which Different Strokes is based.
